If You Want to be Creative, You Can’t be Certain

Welcome to The Outlier Mindset!
Here is 1 visual, 1 insight, and 1 question for you to consider this week…
Curiosity is the Catalyst for Creativity
If you don't know how it works, find out.
If you're not sure it will work, try it.
If it doesn't make sense, play with it until it does.
If it might not be true, find out.
When one is curious, one seeks to understand, discover, and learn.
If You Want to be Creative, You Can’t be Certain
Creativity is the opposite of certainty. When you’re creating, you’re making something that hasn’t been done before. You have to be willing to step into the unknown if you want to be creative.
Challenge your mindset by embracing ambiguity. There is more than just one solution to what we want to achieve. And the term “embracing” doesn’t mean it will be easy. It’s the opposite. It will challenge you to think outside the box. And that is where outliers are acknowledged.
Creativity is Adaptability
Creativity is iterative. Everyone who is doing important work is working on something that might not work. It allows for constant evaluation and alignment with the needs around us.
That is what creativity is all about. Doing important work that might not work. And when the level of self-doubt starts creeping in, know that it’s part of the process, and we can’t create without it.
No one ever stepped into the unknown, thinking they would come out of it after figuring it all out.
One Question
I firmly believe we can get inspired by anything we see, no matter how irrelevant it may be. You never know where an idea or solution may come from. So I ask you,
What is something you have been curious about but haven’t gotten the chance to explore yet?
Until next week,
